besides, but, except, except for
這些前置詞或短語均含“除……之外”之意。
besides : 著重于指另外還有。

I don't want to go; besides, I'm too tired.（我不想去, 再說我也太累了。）

but : 側(cè)重指不包括在內(nèi)。

They never meet but they discuss this problem.（他們每次見面都討論這個問題。）

except : 側(cè)重于排除在外，從整體里減去?？膳cbut換用，但語氣較強。

You will be punished, I can except no one.（你們都得受到懲罰, 我不放過任何人。）

except for : 多用于在說明基本情況或?qū)χ饕糠旨右钥隙?，還引出相反的原因或細節(jié)，從而部分地修正前面的主要意思，含惋惜意味。

His composition is excellent except for some grammatical mistakes.（他的作文寫得很好, 只有幾處語法錯誤。）
