【解析】

more...the more... 越...就越...

1)"the more..., the more..."句型,主從句的時(shí)態(tài)常用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)或一般過(guò)去時(shí)。

①The higher the ground is, the thinner air becomes.?
離地面越高,空氣就越稀薄。

②The harder he worked, the more he got.
他工作越努力,得到的就越多。

2)若主句的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用一般將來(lái)時(shí),從句的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞要用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)表示將來(lái)。

①The harder you work, the greater progress you will make.
你越用功,進(jìn)步就越大。

②The longer the war lasts, the more the people there will suffer.
戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)持續(xù)得越久,那里的人們受難就越多。

3)若比較級(jí)作表語(yǔ)且不位于句首時(shí),可以不用the。

When we are more in danger, we should be braver.
越是危險(xiǎn),我們?cè)綉?yīng)勇敢。

4)在這種句型中,主句在程度上隨著從句變化而變化,常把被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分提前。

The faster you run, the better it will be.
你跑得越快越好。

5) 這種句型的特點(diǎn)是前后都可以有所省略。特別是諺語(yǔ)、俗語(yǔ),只要意義明確,越簡(jiǎn)練越好。

① The more , the better.多多益善。
② The sooner, the better. 越早越好。

6) 這種句型中的比較部分通常是狀語(yǔ)、賓語(yǔ)、表語(yǔ),也可以是主語(yǔ)。

① The more English you practise, the better your English is.
你練習(xí)英語(yǔ)越多,你的英語(yǔ)就越好。

② The busier he is, the happier he feels.
他越忙越高興。

③ The more air there is inside the tyre, the greater pressure there is in it.
輪胎里空氣越多,承受的壓力就越大。

7) 若表示"越……越不……"時(shí),常用"the more..., the less..."句型。

The more she flatters me, the less I like her. 她越逢迎我,我越不喜歡她。

local, locality, venue的區(qū)別：

1)local 是形容詞,意思是當(dāng)?shù)氐?本地的,local customs(當(dāng)?shù)亓?xí)慣),local government(當(dāng)?shù)卣?,local time(本地時(shí)間)等.

2)locality是名詞,指出現(xiàn)某事件的位置,東西所在的地方,也可指區(qū)域,鄰里和地方.并有記憶和識(shí)別地方能力的意義.如:

She has a good sense of locality.她善于識(shí)別方位。

3)venue也是名詞,專指集合,會(huì)面的地方和競(jìng)賽場(chǎng)地.如:Olympic venue是指奧運(yùn)會(huì)比賽場(chǎng)地
