你想日后給這位新結識的朋友打電話。你問他，是否介意你以后打電話給他：

Do you mind if I call you later?

別人請你跳舞你不想跳。你有禮貌地告訴他，你不想跳，請他不要介意：

Do you mind if we don't dance?

夜深了，你征得丈夫同意你遲睡一會兒，就問他，是否介意你晚睡：

Would you mind if I stay up late?

有女士在場，吸煙者應征得女士的同意。你可以問她，介不介意你在這里抽煙：

你想讓朋友等你，就請求他說，可不可以在此等一下：

注：

"Do you mind…"與"Would you mind…"是請求別人幫忙時的客套用語，意為：“可否請您……”，“……您不會介意吧”；或自己要做什么而請求對方諒解的用語，意為“我……可以嗎？”
