Insiders say the new US visa application policy for Chinese, which took effectMonday, will benefit the tourism industries of both countries.

The new policy shortens the visa application process to three weeks, and Chinese applicants can renew their visas that have expired for less than four years without further interviews.
新簽證政策將簽證申請(qǐng)周期縮短至三周，并且中國(guó)簽證持有人若在簽證失效48個(gè)月內(nèi)重新續(xù)簽，將免除面試要求。

The US embassy has also added 50 visa officers to its China service.
同時(shí)，美使館還向中國(guó)增派了50名簽證官。

Its visa-processing capacity in China is likely to increase up to 40 percent this year, accordingto Gary Locke, US ambassador to China.
據(jù)美駐華大使駱家輝表示，今年美方處理中方簽證申請(qǐng)的能力將提高40%。

Zhang Jianping, director of the international economic cooperation department from the Academy of Macroeconomic Research under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), said the United States is relying more on new economies such as China and Brazil. "The simplified visa application will help boost the consumption of Chinese tourists in the US,"he said.
