BAND-8 SCORE DESCRIPTION

20-18 EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION WITH ACCURACIES

The writing effectively addresses the writing task. It demonstrates a well developed logical organizational structure with clearly stated main ideas and sufficeient supporting details. It has almost no errors of vocabulary, spelling, punctuation or syntax, and it displays an adequate ability to use the language with appropriacy. No difficulty is experienced by the reader.

17-15 GOOD COMMUNICATION WITH FEW INACCURACIES

The writing adequately addresses almost all of the writing task, though it deals with some parts more effectively than others. It demonstrates a generally well developed logical organizational structure with main ideas and supporting details. It has relatively few significant errors of vocabulary, spelling, punctuation or syntax, and it displays an ability to use the language with appropriacy. Very little difficulty is experienced by the reader.

14-12 PASSABLE COMMUNICATION WITH SOME INACCURACIES

The writing adequately addresses most of the writing task. On the whole, it demonstrates an adequately developed organizational structure, though there may occasionally be a lack of relevance, clarity, consistency or support. It has occasional errors of vocabulary, spelling, punctuation or syntax, which may, from time to time, obscure meaning, and for the most part it displays some ability to use the language with appropriacy. Occasional difficulty is experienced by the reader.

11-9 PROBLEMATIC COMMUNICATION WITH FREQUENT INACCURACIES

The writing only addresses some of the writing task. It demonstrates an inadequate organizational structure, and there may quite often be a lack of relevance, clarity, consistency or support. It has frequent errors of vocabulary, spelling, punctuation or syntax, and it displays a limited ability to use the language with appropriacy. Some difficulty is experienced by the reader.

8-6 ALMOST NO COMMUNICATION

評價(jià)一篇專八作文的得分，大致可以參照以下四個(gè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)來確定：內(nèi)容(content)、組織(organization)、語法(grammar)和得體性(appropriacy)。這四個(gè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)中，前兩個(gè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是關(guān)于內(nèi)容結(jié)構(gòu)的，屬于謀篇布局部分，后兩個(gè)是關(guān)于語言的，屬于表達(dá)部分。

在英語專八考試的作文評閱中，一般將作文分為五個(gè)等級：

第五級：優(yōu)秀作文(effective?communication?with?accuracies) 這樣的作丈觀點(diǎn)清楚，結(jié)構(gòu)合理，內(nèi)容充實(shí)，語言運(yùn)用得體，基本沒有語言錯(cuò)誤。得分在18-20分。?

第四級：良好作文(good?communication?with?few?inaccuracies) 這樣的作文觀點(diǎn)明確，結(jié)構(gòu)合理，內(nèi)容充實(shí)，語言運(yùn)用較得體，稍有語言錯(cuò)誤。得分在15-17分。?

第三級：尚可作文(passable?communication?with?some?inaccuracies) 這樣的作文觀點(diǎn)明確，結(jié)構(gòu)完整，內(nèi)容尚可，語言運(yùn)用的得體性一般，語言錯(cuò)誤不少，影響到作文的理解。得分在14-12分。?

第二級：問題作文(problematic?communication?with?frequent?inaccuracies) 這樣的作文觀點(diǎn)不甚明確，結(jié)構(gòu)不完整，內(nèi)容匱乏，語言得體性較差，語言錯(cuò)誤較多，影響到作文的理解。得分在11-9分。?

第一級：失敗作文(almost?no?communication)這樣的作文基本沒有達(dá)到寫作要求，幾乎無結(jié)構(gòu)和內(nèi)容可言，通篇充斥語言錯(cuò)誤，無語言得體性可言，作文難以理解。得分在8-6分或以下。
