“地球一小時(shí)”: 雨中別樣風(fēng)景(視頻)
The Shanghai government has announced that it will turn off the lights for one hour at government buildings, with Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Theater and many other public facilities in observance of "Earth Hour".
This is the fifth time the Shanghai government has participated in the annual global event that is to raise awareness for the need to take action on climate change through more sustainable energy consumption. It also encouraged residents to turn off non-essential lights during the hour.
Meanwhile, many companies across the country are showing their enthusiasm to join the event. Earth Hour was launched in 2007 in Australia by the World Wildlife Federation. It calls for people, organizations and cities to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour starting at 8:30 p.m. local time today.
