Nancy:Yeh! What daya do?
Victor:What do you do? 就是我們?cè)趩杽e人職業(yè)的時(shí)候常說的一句話。
Nancy:Now listen to my pronunciation. What daya what daya what daya do?
Victor:What daya do?
Nancy:Good! This is the way we ask someone about their job. “What daya do?”, it’s short for “what do you do for a living?”, but we don’t say “for a living” anymore.
Victor:Great! 我喜歡現(xiàn)在的英語(yǔ),越說越“短”啦!Nancy, what daya do? 對(duì)了,你掙多少錢呢?
Nancy:It’s always okay to ask someone about their job, it shows you’re interested in them. But you never, ever ask someone how much money they make.
