To stick to one's guns Shooting the breeze 今天我們要講的兩個(gè)俗語是和槍，也就是英語里的gun這個(gè)字有聯(lián)系的。我們要講的第一個(gè)俗語是to stick to one's guns。對(duì)于士兵來說，在被很多敵人包圍的情況下還要能持續(xù)裝炮彈發(fā)射的話，他們肯定需要很多勇氣。這種精神在英文里就是to stick to one's guns. To stick to one's guns從字面上來解釋是指槍。但是這個(gè)俗語現(xiàn)在幾乎和槍沒有什么關(guān)系，它的意思就是：在日常生活中堅(jiān)持原則，穩(wěn)步前進(jìn)，不屈服外界的壓力。比如說，一個(gè)爸爸對(duì)他在大學(xué)念書的女兒講話： 例句-1: Pumpkin, I hear that some of the students at your school are fooling around with drugs.
