第二類：間接數(shù)字

這類題目中數(shù)字并不是直接念出來(lái)，而是通過(guò)一些比較巧妙的方法給出。

實(shí)際做題：原文：Can I share a room with someone else? I’ve been alone in my room at my aunt’s and I’ve always shared with my sister and I like that.

解題：雖然并沒(méi)有直接出現(xiàn)數(shù)字，但是通過(guò)與另外一個(gè)人分享一個(gè)房間的方式反映出Sara需要的是一個(gè)雙人間，故答案為B。

How many circuses are there in the festival?

A one

B two

C several

實(shí)際做題：原文：I am going to talk about two circus performances, but there are plenty of others in the programme.

解題：通過(guò)plenty of others 與several 形成同義轉(zhuǎn)換，答案為C.

例6? 劍4 Test 3 Q22

The Study for Success seminar lasts for

A one day

B two days

C three days

實(shí)際做題：原文：There’s our intensive study for success seminar on the first and second of February.

解題：通過(guò)二月的第一和第二天不難看出答案是兩天。

例7? 劍5 Test 3 Q18

Students wishing to live off-campus should apply

A several months in advance

B two or three weeks in advance

C at the beginning of term

實(shí)際做題：原文：If you are starting in October you need to be thinking about it in June or at the very latest July.

解題：如果想在十月份實(shí)行的話，六月或最晚七月就要考慮了。意思上與A. 提前幾個(gè)月一致，故答案為A.

其實(shí)在雅思中還存在一些間接表達(dá)數(shù)字的方法，例如couple, fortnight等。熟悉了這些間接和直接的表達(dá)數(shù)字的特點(diǎn)后，我相信選擇題中的數(shù)字考點(diǎn)也就一目了然了。
