Motivate = mot-（移動(dòng)）+ -ive-（形容詞詞尾，e略）+ -ate（動(dòng)詞詞尾），引申為“促進(jìn)、激勵(lì)”，同近義詞有drive。Motivate強(qiáng)調(diào)驅(qū)使人們采取行動(dòng)的原因或動(dòng)機(jī)。Drive側(cè)重外來的驅(qū)策力和內(nèi)心感情力量的驅(qū)使。
