事先未跟自己的老板打個招呼，就徑直去另外一個部門求職了。等到老板得知后， 他一定會很不舒服地對你說，I shouldn't have learned it from the grapevine， Mike. I should have heard it straight from you。
確實，很多事，不怕聽了不高興，怕的是一直被蒙在鼓里。對于當事人來說，與其說讓別人通過小道消息得知某事，倒不如主動地相告，以求得一個機會，以便正式地，公正地對所發(fā)生的事加以解說。

1. Tom, I'd like to talk to you about my plans for a career change. I don't want you to hear it from the grapevine.
湯姆，我想親自向你匯報一下我對自己事業(yè)發(fā)展的安排。我不想讓你通過小道消息得知。
