On August 12, 1962 - Jack Nicklaus won his 14th major, breaking Bobby Jones record!

Jack Nicklaus won his first U.S. Amateur tournament in 1959. In 1962, he won his first U.S. Open and in 1963, his first Masters. For 20 years, Nicklaus dominated the fairways and greens like no other golfer of his time. On August 12 in 1973, Nicklaus won the PGA championship, giving him 14 majortournament titles and breaking the record set by Bobby Jones. Nicklaus eventually totaled 20 major championship wins, including 5 PGA titles, 4 U.S. Opens and a record 6 Masters.
