在學(xué)習(xí)方式狀語從句時，我們分享過as if/as though的區(qū)別，同樣的，在目的狀語從句中也有這樣一個引導(dǎo)詞——in order that，容易與它混淆的詞組是in order to，后者并不能引導(dǎo)狀語從句。下面請跟小編一起來看一下兩者有哪些具體差別吧。

首先要注意的是，in order that與in order to譯文相同，都譯作“為了...”

不同之處在于：

in order that+從句????in order to+動詞原形

in order that+從句構(gòu)成目的狀語從句，表明主句行為目的；in order to+動詞原形構(gòu)成目的狀語，不成從句。

I get up early in order that I can catch the early bus.

I get up early in order to catch the early bus.

為了能趕上早班車，我很早就起床了。

He works hard in order that he can obtain a higher position.

He works hard in order to obtain a higher position.

為了升職，他很努力地工作。

另外，目的狀語從句還有一個特點：

由于目的都是未來的行為，所以從句中一般用表示未來可能性時態(tài)，

當(dāng)然還可以用will,?would,?can等。

He studies English very hard in order that he will go abroad one day.

為了將來有一天能夠出國，他很努力地學(xué)習(xí)英語。

in order that與in order to只是結(jié)構(gòu)相似，含義相同，但兩者用法卻有較大差異，不能夠互換使用，因為后者不能引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句，只能緊跟動詞原形構(gòu)成目的狀語，還請同學(xué)們仔細(xì)分辨。
