古語(yǔ)和俗語(yǔ)一直是高級(jí)口譯資格考試中翻譯部分的特色和難點(diǎn)。2010年的考題中再一次出現(xiàn)大量的古語(yǔ)。如：“孔子曰：‘七十而從心而欲，不逾矩?！保昂？杖昔~躍，天高任鳥飛?！?同時(shí)包括一些四字詞語(yǔ)都是來自于一些古語(yǔ)，如：“世事洞明”來自于“世事洞明皆學(xué)問，人情練達(dá)即文章?！?br>
中國(guó)文化博大精深，古語(yǔ)俗語(yǔ)成為高級(jí)口譯翻譯部分的一大難點(diǎn)，也凸顯了作為一個(gè)好的翻譯，不僅對(duì)于英語(yǔ)要有深入的了解，對(duì)于漢語(yǔ)也要有深厚的功底。

子曰：“吾十有五而志于學(xué)，三十而立，四十不惑，五十而知天命，六十而耳順，七十而從心欲，不逾矩。 ”

At fifteen I aspired to become a learned man; By the age of thirty I had established myself; After I reached forty, nothing bewildered me any more; At fifty I began to understand the mandate of heaven; At sixty my ears became receptive to all remarks; Once I was seventy I was able to follow my heart’s desire freely without overstepping the bounds.

直譯：The wide sea allows the fish to leap about and vast sky the birds to fly

意譯：The field of activity is vast with brilliant prospects where much can be accomplished.

世事洞明皆學(xué)問，人情練達(dá)即文章。

A grasp of mundane affairs is genuine knowledge; an understanding of worldly wisdom is true learning.

其中“世事洞明”可以譯為“the grasp / command / insight of mundane affairs”。
