這些名詞均含“機(jī)會”之意。

chance : 側(cè)重指偶然或意外的機(jī)會，有時(shí)也指正?；蚝玫臋C(jī)會。

A wise man turns chance into good fortune.（一個(gè)聰明人能把機(jī)會變成好運(yùn)。）

I have not any chance of telling him the inner story.（我沒有機(jī)會跟他講其中的內(nèi)幕。）

opportunity : 側(cè)重指有利或適合于采取行動(dòng)，以達(dá)到某一目的或?qū)崿F(xiàn)某種愿望的最佳時(shí)機(jī)或機(jī)會。

He sought opportunities of doing her little service.（他尋找機(jī)會為她盡一點(diǎn)力。）

He never missed an opportunity of exposing their opportunism.(他從不放過一個(gè)機(jī)會來揭露他們的機(jī)會主義。)

occasion : 指特殊時(shí)機(jī)或良機(jī)，也指時(shí)節(jié)。

I want to take this occasion to thank you.(我想借此機(jī)會向你表示感謝。)

We can't forfeit the occasion.(我們不能失去這個(gè)機(jī)會。)
