advance, progress, proceed, move on, go

這些動詞均含“前進，行進，進展”之意。

1. advance ：主要用于具體的人或物，也可指科學技術和運動等。

eg: I signed to him to keep away, but he continued to advance.（我示意他離開, 但他還是繼續(xù)往前走。）

?? ? ?She advanced greatly in her knowledge.（她在學識上大有長進。）

2. progress ：指按某一既定目標前進，取得發(fā)展，目的性很明確，強調經(jīng)常和穩(wěn)定地前進。

eg: Our progress was embarrassed by lots of baggage.（大量的行李使我們行進困難。）

?? ? ?During these years the labour movement of the United States has made great progress.（這些年來, 美國的工人運動已取得巨大的進展。）

3. proceed ：側重指繼續(xù)前進。

eg: They will proceed to build another laboratory building.（他們將著手建造另一座實驗大樓。）

?? ? ?The trial is proceeding.（審問正在進行。）

4. move on ：非正式用語，側重從某一停止點向某地前進，但不表示前進的目的地。

eg: We talked about these for a while and then moved on to another house.（我們談了一會兒之后, 就前往另一家去了。）

5. go ：最常用詞，含義寬泛而不確切，依上文確定其具體意思。

eg: Everything went pretty smoothly.（一切進展相當順利。）
